Since so much of the recent discussion relates to the great-grandparents
of Henry of Brabant, is this a correct listing of them?

Godfried I Count of Brabant
Ida of ?
Berengar Count of Sulzbach
Adelaide of Diessen/Wolfratshausen
Walram III Paganus Count of Limburg
Judith of Gueldres
Adolf of Saffenberg
Marguerite of Schwarzenberg

I wouldn't dare say so.

The current consensus of scholars, following a study published in 1872, is
that Ida was probably daughter of Otto II, count of Chiny by Adelais (aka
Aleydis, Alix, etc) of Namur.

With appropriate uncertainty expressed, this connection can be found in
Arlette Laret-Kayser's _Entre Bar et Luxembourg: le comté de Chiny des
origines à 1300_ (Brussels, 1986) and in Christian Settipani's _La
préhistoire des Capétiens 481-987_ (Villeneuve d'Ascq, 1993).

We don't have direct and clear proof to set aside the earlier consensus that
she was daughter of Adalbert III, count of Namur by his wife Ida, in other
words a full-sister of Adelais above.
