Dear Tim Powys-Lybbe:

Thank you for your source suggestions in connection
with Richard Bulkley Goldsmith 1473-1479.

Beaven's List of Aldermen, Mayors, and Sheriffs is an
interesting reminder that the London folk recognised
the importance of arranged marriages to secure family
property and authority. William's "Medieval London"
stresses that point generation after generation.

I have yet to study McLean's "Memoirs of the Family of
Poyntz". If the Richard Bulkley Goldsmith is
identified therein, it probably suggests that he is a
descendant of the Bulkley Eaton & Alstanton Cheshire
line.(Robert (son) Charles Bulkley of Hampshire
married Anne (d) Sir Robert Pointz of Glouc about
1485-1490)

Will be of interest to learn if there is any
connection between Richard B, William B., and Thomas B
of London - all appear to be of the same age group.

Sincerely Yours,

Paul Bulkley
