SHAA MAYORS OF LONDON

Legg inn av David Hepworth » 02 nov 2006 19:37:41

Hi all, this is a request for any further/complete information on E
Shaa and J Shaa both of whom were mayors of London in the late 15th and
early 16th centuries.

I wondered if Todd, Rosie or any others of you completed a fairly
accurate picture of these men and if so, could you either post details
here, let me know where to look or email me privately
(david@kirkleespark.com)

Many thanks for your trouble.

David,

I descend from John Shaa's sister and her husband William Poyntz of
North Ockendon Essex.

Have a fair deal of information on John Shaa and his uncle Edmund which
I would be more than happy to share with you.

If you would let me know where you stand with your research we can take
it from there.

Can I join in: I would be extremely interested in a documented account
of Edmund Shaa and his near relations. The last I heard, most of the
published accounts have some defect or other.

John Shaw (Shaa), 1450-1503, was an MP, so there is an entry in
Wedgwood's History of Parliament, Biographies of Members of the House
of Commons 1439-1509 (HMSO, 1936), at p. 758. It's quite detailed and
footnotes a number of other sources.
