More on Joan Tateshall

Here I give a link (with ancestry subscription) but also copy what AR8 has to
say about the Tateshall/Driby line

<a href =
"http://content.ancestry.com/Browse/BookView.aspx?dbid=49030&iid=FLHG_AncestralRoots-0049">Ancestral Roots, 8th Edition, Line 16C, pg 25</a>
which states:
"28 Robert de Tateshal, b 1222, d 22 July 1273; m bef 1249, Nichole, liv 30
May 1277 (CP XII(1): 649-650)
"29 Joan de Tateshal, b abt 1250; m Robert de Driby, d 1279
"30 John de Driby, app b out of wedlock, d 1334
"31 John de Driby, yeoman, d aft 30 Nov 1357; m by 1338 Amy de Gaveston
(16A-31) (TAG 37:50)
"32 Alice de Driby (16A-32); m (3) Sir Anketil Mallory, Knt"

I now have discounted that connection to Amy Gaveston, but we are still left
with the "d 1279" on line 29 above. Does anyone know what the source of that
is? AR8 doesn't specifically state that it is CP there, only stating CP on
line 28 above. I would feel better about what I'm showing now, if I could find
where the 1279 comes from and then discount it.

As I posted before, Alice de (Driby) Bernake at her brother John's IPM is
called "age 40 and more" on 20 June 1334. So she was born 1294 or earlier, but
15 years earlier ? I don't think that could be correct.

Perhaps if the 1279 date can be tracked down, it can be shown to refer
instead to this Robert's father and then the line has been confused. I do know that
some references show Robert's father as Simon, but if there is no good
evidence that *the* Robert who married Joan was also the same Robert who was son of
Simon, then I propose the line might go like this

Simon de Driby born by 1228, died after 1271
Robert de Driby born by 1245 died in 1279
Robert de Driby born by 1262 died between 1293 and 1309, married Joan
Tattershall d 1329
