John Vere and Alice Colbroke or Kilrington were parents of John Verre, 15th
Earl of Oxford. Through his wife's Tresytheny family John sen acquired
large holdings in Cornwall including the manors of Roseworthy (in Gwinear),
Bejowan (in St. Columb Minor), and Tregenna (in St. Ewe). As one of the
"heirs of Warin Archdecon" John also was in his own right a free tenant with
holdings for 1/2 knight's fee at Redalan, Huthnans, Karyorghall, Trene, in
Cornwall, parts of Carminow Manor and his death was recorded in Carminowe
manorial records between 1487 and 1494. (ref A2A)

So far I have not been able to locate any children other than 15th Earl of
Oxford for John Vere and Alice Colbroke. However there is strong evidence
of a continuing Vere family presence in Cornwall, despite the fact that the
seat of the Earls of Oxford was in Essex and the Cornish manors were only
kept in the family for three generations.

Information about other possible children of John Vere and Alice Colbroke
would be much appreciated.

Regards, Mary
