"Drew" being a mush-mouthed version of "Derehaugh" ...

Thanks, John.

With regard to your first post on this subject, I came across that
particular visitation entry some years ago but discounted the connection
between the Suffolk Russells and the Bedford Russells as late-dated
wishful thinking (particularly since I have not found any indications of a
connection in contemporary records, scarce though they are). I do know
that the chart has some problems in the known portions (such as the name
of Thomas Russell's Jerveys wife, which was Denyse and not Jane) that
don't inspire a great deal of confidence in the not-otherwise-attested
portions.

Yeah, it looked a little whacky regarding the chronology, but I just
threw it out there ...

On the early Russells:

J. H. Round, Studies in Peerage and Family History, pps 253 et seq.

Rounds has fun with the alleged ancestry.
