Who were they? Nugents

At times it is fascinating to put sources together as they may bring answers but also more questions.

The National Trust produced a booklet on Kingston Lacy. In it is a family tree of the Bankes family and displays how Rt.Hon. George Bankes 1787-1857 married Georgina Charlotte Nugent 1799-1875, daugther of Lady Nugent.
In the text it states bluntly that George married Georgina Charlotte Nugent (whose real father, however, was the Duke of Cumberland, who became King of Hannover in 1837).

Burke's Landed Gentry 1937 page 92 shows the Bankes family, and here George Bankes married Georgina Charlotte Nugent only daughter and heir of Sir Charles Edmund Nugent, Admiral of the Fleet.

Dictionary of National Biography has an entry for Sir Charles Edmund Nugent, in it he is recorded as "reputed son" of Lieutenant-colonel the Hon. Edmund Nugent-----another question. At the bottom the last sentence is "He was married, and left issue one daughter." In this entry also is mentioned that in 1834 he received the grand cross of the Hanoverian order,

Does anyone know who was this lady, married to Sir Charles Edmund Nugent and apparently mistress of the Duke of Cumberland? And is there more known about the parentage of Sir Charles Edmund Nugent?

With many thanks.

Leo:

Fot Sir Charles Edmund Nugent and his apparent father Lt.Col. Hon. Edmund
Nugent, see CP 9:793, where in a footnote Edmund is noted as the only son
(d. vp) of Robert Nugent, 1st [and last] Earl Nugent.

Related question: Is it known how this family of Nugent of Carlanstown is
related to the Nugents who were Lords Delvin and Earls of Westmeath? The
Stirnet site has a fragmentary pedigree under "Nugent03" for this family,
but it has some major gaps. [But it does include your two men above...]
