I am not acquainted with the Shap/Heppe Charters?

You advise that Thomas (s) Gospatrick gave property to
church 1119.

If he had been the son of Orm (s) Ketal, Gospatrick
would be of the ancient age of 90 to 100 when he
surrendered Appleby Castle 1174.

And if Thomas (son) Gospatrick (s)Orm was the ancestor
of the Curwen family, presumably one cannot consider a
Thomas (son) Thomas.

I would suggest that you consider Thomas being the son
of Gospatrick II the illegitimate son of Gospatrick I.

Adam's "Land of the Cumbria" addresses the period 400
to 1200 - the descendants of Gospatrick I's children
are not discussed.

Best Wishes,
