Dear Leo, Ian, et al.,
I have noted 2 connections between descendants of Christopher Lacy
of London (d. 1518), a younger son of Gilbert Lacy of Brearley, which
place him in the ancestry of the late Queen Mother. The first descent
is given below, which ascends through (among others) the Aldersley
family of Aldersley, co. Chester.
The second descent is noted at among the issue of John Aldersley of
Aldersley and Anne Lowe (generation 1.1b.1.1.1.1.1a.1.1.1.1a.1.1.1.1).
Their younger daughter Dorothy (wife of Sir Thomas Hoskyns) is
already shown on Genealogics [I00081928], so that this connection is
readily noted.
Not that Prince William needed another descent from William the
Lion,.......
Cheers,
John *

Re: Ancestry of Prince William (via Aldersley of Aldersley)
In addition to the two Aldersey connections to the Queen Mother and thus to
Prince William, there is also a connection from Aldersey to Princess Diana,
giving Prince William yet another descent in this line. While one daughter
(Anne) of Elizabeth Aldersey and the 1st Baron Coventry is an ancestor of
Prince Charles, another daughter (Mary) is an ancestor of Princess Diana via
the families of Thynne, Worsley, and Carteret.
The connection of Lowe of London to Lacy of Brearley is quite a nice
addition to Prince William's ancestry. Thanks, John, for posting this!!
BTW, your subject line and introduction line refer to the family as
Adlersley (with a second L), but the descent shows it as Aldersey (without
the second L). Both Ormerod and CP appear to use the second version of the
name.

Subject: Ancestry of Prince William (via Aldersley of Aldersley)
Tuesday, 12 September, 2006
Cheers,
John *

Subject: Ancestry of Prince William (via Aldersley of Aldersley)
Tuesday, 12 September, 2006
Cheers,
John *

Subject: Ancestry of Prince William (via Aldersley of Aldersley)
Tuesday, 12 September, 2006
Cheers,
John *
