An earlier generation for the Huttons of Dry Drayton

Evidence that the family of Thomas Hutton were settled in Dry Drayton,
Cambs, before the manorial estate was acquired by his uncle the
Archdeacon may be found in a Consistory Court of Ely will (VC4:74)
which also takes the lineage back one further generation.

This is the will of Robert Hutton of Dry Drayton, dated 2 April 1490
and proved in 1492. He names his sons John [died 1501, father of
Thomas] and Thomas [the archdeacon], and brother James, and asks to be
buried in Dry Drayton. The lack of a reference to a son James, who is
named in John will as being already dead, indicates that he was likely
dead by 1490.
