"Much more demanding and exclusive are societies which require all
ancestors to be of a specified type, such as that I am contemplating
forming for myself "The Society of Descendants of Labourers, Manual
Craftsmen and their Conjugal Partners".

I enjoyed this, Fred. Great idea! For years teaching genealogy at
Chicago's Newberry Library I tried to put the matter of royal descents
in perspective for my classes. To do so, I said that probably for every
descent I have from Edward III I have probably (could they all be
traced) about 30,000 from Ulf the Swineherd!

-------You think the descendants of Ulf the Swineherd are more intermarried
with their own kind, than those of Edward III?
