They were ancestors of the American Fitches in the following line --

--Margery Bedell + William Brock
--Mary Brock + John Reeve
--Anne Reeve + Thomas Fitch

I have never come across a Thomas & Joan in Margery's family before,
moreover the snippet on Google books that I can see does not show the
will you refer to. Can you give the connection please?
I have seen Margery's parents given as John Bedell and Margaret Jakes
although I have never seen any actual evidence for this and my
recollection of the Essex visitations is that there is no pedigree
given for the Black Notley Bedells. I have in my notes that the most
likely relationship of Bishop William Bedell is his father John would
be Margery's brother on time scale grounds and location alone- Bishop
William, (b c 1543) and Margery (b c 1571) both come from the Bedells
of Black Notley. Do you or anyone know any better?

"Thomas Bedyll of Black Notley in the County of Essex, Yoman, in his
will, dated September 16, 1550 (and proved in the Commissary Court of
the Bishop of London for parts of Essex), directs his body to be buried
in Black Notley church, and mentions his wife Johan, his daughters
Alice, Custans, Johan, and Margery, and his sons John the elder,
Thomas, James, and John the younger.
The will of a Johanne Bedell of Hatfield Peverell, co. Essex,
widow, was proved in the Commissary Court of the Bishop of London for
parts of Essex in 1576. ... She mentions the children of three
daughters, Brokes, Wyseman, and Rix or Cricks. This testatrix was
probably Johan, the widow of Thomas Bedyll of Black Notley."

Thanks for this, very useful. I of course got Margery and William's
dates reversed, she b c 1543 and Bishop William Bedell b c 1571. Alice
Bedell m William Wiseman according to the 1634 Essex visitations.
