musings on why people flame online

1. They have empty lives and are DESPERATE for attention.
2. They have weak egos and need to bolster themselves up by belittling others.
3. They are timid in real life, so create a macho persona online to compensate.

The most devastating thing you can do to such a person is to ignore them.
Attack them, and you've given them exactly what the want.

Ironically, these people are too socially inept and emotionally immature to be
aware that the rest of us see right through them.

Hint: we don't admire you for what you undoubtedly imagine is your adroit
repartee, we think you're pathetic, as in adolescent... uh, no, make that
"infantile."

P.S. I won't respond to your replies, so you can puff up your ego some more by
thinking you got in the last word. Or are you mature enough to ignore me and
not reply?

I agree totally... Although I remember growing up that I used to be on local
BBSs that had whats called War Boards where people would flame each other,
however....only those that wanted to be part of it was on the war boards.
It was generally a bunch of people that were friends either online or off
and were ok with giving each other a razzin...it was all fake, kinda like
the pro-wrestling of public forums. I think in cases of newsgrous such as
this, we should all be a little more positive, respectfull, and eager to
help each other out.
