Leycester's list of Sheriffs includes:

1262 Robert Buckley

Cheshire Plea Rolls I includes:

1262 Dispute of Patric (v) St Pierre and describes
Robert Bulkile Sheriff of Chester as a witness,
subsequently chosen as an arbitrator, of the dispute.

A2A.gov.org includes:

1260/1270 Robert Bulkile Sheriff of Chester as witness
to property transaction Hatherton/Staunford A/D
Chester

Select Rolls of the Chester City Courts (Hopkins)
speaks of Chester and its citizens, and in particular
"Hugh the Mercer"; and continues
"Hugh, son of the more famous Robert, was a constant
suitor in the Chester Courts. Robert was sheriff of
the city 1261/62, 1262/63, and 1263/64.

Did Chester possess more than one Sheriff at that
time?

Sincerely Yours,

Paul Bulkley
