I can't comment on either the Hussey or the Berkeley aspects of the lineage
in the link below, but the ancestry shown for Joan Woodford, daughter of
John Woodford and Mabel de Folville is a bit problematic. As far as I can
determine, John Woodford (1358-1401) was never a knight, although is
father, William Woodford (d. 1369), was. Also John Woodford's wife, Mabel
de Folville is usually identified as the daughter of Geoffrey de Folville
(d. ca. 1374) and Isabel de la Mare (daughter of an otherwise unplaced Sir
Geoffrey de la Mare by an unknown wife). Geoffrey de Folville is, in turn,
generally identified as the son of Sir John de Folville (d. ca. 1348) and
Mabel Tilney. Sir John (d. ca. 1348) was the son of Sir John de Folville
(d. 1310), M.P. and his wife Alice, and brother of the members of the
"Folville Gang." I believe that there's been some discussion of this in on
the list in the past so a search of the archives should turn up the
citations. If not, I can dig through my files and post some myself.
Even if the Woodford and de Folville families are too obscure to raise a
red flag, as it were, the fact that the same weblink (buried in, what I
believe is the mistaken lineage of Joan Woodford) indicates that Gundreda,
wife of William de Warenne, was the daughter of Matilda of Flanders (as in
William the Conqueror's wife), should at least call for some further
investigation.

P.S. John Woodford II and his wife Mabel de Folville are ancestors of the
17th century Virginia immigrant Mrs. Frances Baldwin Townsend Jones
Williams.

**Big Cut**
If this is the correct individual, then Charles Touteville would have
royal ancestry through William Hussey's mother, Eliabeth Berkeley, as
indicated in the weblink below.
