I wonder if there mightn't in fact be some good lines in the ancestry
of Anne Pearson, wife of Edmond Mauleverer, and mother of Mrs. Abbott.
See p. 76 of Dugdale's 1664-66 Yorkshire Visitation ("Pearson of
Lowthorpe"):
http://www.hti.umich.edu/cgi/t/text/pag ... q=00000102
The wife of Edmond Mauleverer, whom he married at Kirkby Grindalythe,
Yorks., was supposed to be "Anne Peirson of Mowthorpe," which I don't
find on the map. Note, however, that LOWTHORPE is quite close to
Kirkby Grindalythe (the are on the opposite edges of the map below) --
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi? ... 287&up.y=3
Notice that the Pearsons of Lowthorpe had prior connections to Marske,
Yorkshire, which is where the Huttons (the family of Edmond
Mauleverer's mother) hailed from.
Something to consider --

Dear John ~
I believe that the immigrant, Anne Pearson, wife of Edmund Mauleverer
and Matthew Watson, was from a place called Mowthorpe, Yorkshire, not
Lowthorpe, Yorkshire. Checking the internet just now, I find that
Mowthorpe can be identified as one of two places, either High Mowthorpe
or Low Mowthorpe, both of which were situated in the 1820's in the
parish of Kirby Grindalythe, Yorkshire. Kirby Grindalythe is the
parish in which Anne Pearson and her first husband, Edmund Mauleverer,
were married High Mowthorpe was located 1¼ miles NW. of Kirby
Grindalythe; Low Mowthorpe was located ¾ mile WSW. of Kirby
Grindalythe.
Neither High or Low Mowthorpe occurs on the modern MultiMap which
covers the area for Kirby Grindalythe:
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi? ... 359&up.y=5
So possibly both places are no longer in existence. I should mention
that Kirby Grindalythe is not far from another localty you mentioned in
your posts, namely Lowthorpe, Yorkshire. Lowthorpe is a separate and
distinct place from High and Low Mowthorpe.

Re: Hutton & Mauleverer relations of Mrs. Anne Mauleverer Ab
Hi Doug,
Yes, it is rather confusing. Note that the 1664/6 Dugdale Visitation
shows John Pearson "of Lowthorpe's" wife as being "Elizabeth, daughter
of John Pearson of MOULTHROP," very possibly the same place as
Mowthorpe. Thus, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Anne (Pearson)
Mauleverer was a close cousin of some of the people in Dugdale's
Visitation ...
