Have found the following in the above book which reads:
10 Edward III
1336
April12
Havering atte Bower
"To the same. Order not to intermeddle further with 2 parts of the
manor of Great Munden & the advowson of 2 parts of the Church of Great
Munden & of the priory of Ronnheye, co., Hertford, because the king has
learned by inquisition taken by the escheator that John DESEVILL held
no lands at his death in chief, but that he held the said 2 parts &
advowsons of the earl of Richmond by the service of 2 parts of a
knight's fee."

I plead to total ignorance when it comes to searching these old
records. How and where would I find a record of the inquisition
mentioned above? It would appear from reading this that this was
previously looked at [from the wording ["Order not to intermeddle
further."

I am unable to find the name DESEVILL elsewhere on line ,but think and
hope it may be a variation of the surname DIXWELL.

Thank you
