Several websites show Cecily de Vivonne (b. 1257, d. 12 Jan 1230) to have
been buried in "Fort in Poitore."

I have "Googled" everything I can think of to find this location outside of
genealogy or family tree sites, and can find nothing. Did such a place
exist, and if so, where was it? I would think it could have been in
Somersetshire, as that is the location of other events in her life.

Not finding anything in my searches, I am beginning to think it was a
figment of someone's immagination!

Could it be St Fort sur Gironde, in *Poitou*?

I believe the notation "Fort in Poitore" does not refer to a location,
but to her father, as in CP: "William Fort de Vivonne in Poitou, of
Chewton, Somerset." Also in Sureties: "William de Fortibus (also
styled le Fort)...."

He was likely born in Poitou, perhapss in Fors, Deux-Sèvres, Poitou,
but usually a sobriquet such as "Fortibus" (Latin for "Strong") refers
to the person.
