"Commission to William Cheyne, John Juyn, Hugh Luttrell, Thomas Broke and
William Bonevyle, knights, John Warre, John Stourton the elder, William Poulet,
Hugh Cary and the sheriff of Somerset, or to any two or more of them,
including either Cheyne, of Juyn, or Stouton or Poulet, to hold inquisition in the
said county as to the complaint which has been made by William lord de
Botreaux, knight, that Ralph Botreaux, knight and William Langkelly 'yoman', and
other malefactors of their covin and assent, unmindful of the salvation of their
souls, and not having God before their eyes, have procured John Alwode of
Trottokeshill, Hugh Bowet of Kylmyngton, chaplain, and John Neuport, who are
said to practise soothsaying, necromancy and art magic, to weaken and
annihilate, subtly consume and altogether destroy by the said arts, the body of the
said William Botreaux.
The like commission to William Cheyne and John Juyn, knights, John Warre,
John Stourton the younger, William Carent, John Neburgh, Robert Hillarie and
John Stork, one of the following, viz. Cheyne, Juyn, Hillarie or Stork being
of the quorum, for the county of Dorset.
The like to John Arundell, knight, Thomas Arundell, knight, Thomas
Carmynowe, Richard Treveynoun, Richard Resprenne, Otho Tregonan, and John Cork,
for the county of Cornwall, one of the following, viz. Resprenne, Tregonan or
Cork being of the quorum.
