Page 135 of the 1623 Surrey Visitation shows a Margaret Griffin,
daughter of Peter and Anne (Leigh) Griffin, as "vx. Sr Allexander
Temple of com. Essex Knt."

(Page 148 of the same Visitation mentions another of Alexander Temple's
wives, Mary Reeve, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Abdey) Reeve of
London. Sir Alexander Temple married the widow Mary (Reeve) Busbridge
sometime after 9 July 1604, the date she married her first husband,
John Busbridge at St. Dunstan, Stepney. Sir Alexander Temple married
his other known wife, the widow Mary (Sommer) Peniston, widow of Thomas
Peniston, 4 Dec. 1602 at St. Bride Fleet Street).

I do not find an extracted record in the IGI for the marriage of
Margaret Griffin to Alexander Temple, but there is a record, 14 Feb.
1590 at Saint Gregory By Saint Paul, London, for the marriage of
Alexander "Serle" and Margaret Griffyn. Could "Serle" be a mistake for
Temple? There are quite a few other entries in the register for
various members of the Serle family, which may have misled the
transcriber.

1590 would be a good approximate date for the marriage of this Margaret
Griffin, as the pedigree shows her with a brother Edward who married
Anne Treherne. That marriage occurred 19 Feb. 1591, per extracted IGI.

Miles Temple (which was a given name used by the Temple of Stowe
family) married Mary Shute in 1664, also at the church of Saint Gregory
By Saint Paul, London. Does anybody know if this is the Miles Temple
who was a descendant of the Stowe family?

The marriage of John Gifford and Margaret Temple occurred at St.
Katherine-by-the-Tower in August 1650. Interestingly, there is another
marriage in the same church, 24 July 1614, between John "Gefford" and
Elizabeth Griffin.

I suspect he was, as we find an extracted baptism soon after this
marriage: Susanna Temple, daughter of Miles and Mary, christened 29
Jan. 1666 at Saint Christopher Le Stocks, London. Susanna was a very
popular name in the Temple of Stowe family (derived from the name of
their ancestress, Susan [Spencer] Temple).

These extracted baptisms look about right:

*** Saint Mary, Stafford ***

--Margaret Griffin, dau. of Peter, 24 Jan. 1561.
--Wm. Gryffin, son of Peter and Agnes, 18 July 1565.
--Valentine Gryffyn, son of Peter and Agnes, 16 Feb. 1567.
--Jack [sic; recte Isack] Griffin, son of Peter and Agnes, 13 Dec. 1568.

A check on A2A shows that Sir Alexander Temple and his son James were
associated with Chadwell, Essex --
