She was the paternal grandmother of John Stratton, husband of Anne
Derehaugh. She is mentioned most recently in Hal Bradley's article in the
latest Register (A Royal Descent for John Stratton, NEHGR
160(2006):101-108), which traces a line from Henry II via Longespee down
in a largely female line to the same Cecily Felton, wife of John Stratton,
mother of Thomas Stratton, and grandmother of the non-immigrant (whose
wife and children were immigrants to MA) John Stratton.

That will teach me to reply to a post without checking the reference.

Cecily Felton, 2nd wife of Richard Freston of Mendham, was a niece of
Cecily (Felton) Stratton (a daughter of Thomas Felton, Mrs. Stratton's
brother).

Thanks, Robert. I thought she was probably a niece or cousin.
