Is this account of the wife of the Baron von Poellnitz (who fought in
the American Revolution, died in South Carolina, and has American
descendants [see my earlier posting]) borne out by _The Complete
Peerage_?

It is consistent with Burke's Peerage, sub Northumberland, although the
lady's second husband is not named there (nor sub Bute). Paul
Theroff's online site also fails to give details of this second
marriage.

I just checked _CP_ and there is a brief mention of the Poellnitz
marriage ("_ex. inform._" of some correspondent), and a citation to
_Life and Correspondence of James Iredell_. But the book on Stephen
Sayre might come in handy if there's ever another edition of _CP_ and
the editors wanted to "beef up" the footnote.
