Note that William and Jacob Boeve petitioned along with Purie,
Phillips, and Brayne (whose petitions all involved ironworks in the
Forest of Dean). There was an Elizabeth Boeve, whose second husband
was John Becx, possibly the one involved with the New England Ironworks

_V.C.H. Gloucestershire_, 5:365:

Parliament's victory deprived the area of the influence and leadership
of most of its leading gentry and holders of forest offices ... In
that situation the Forest was dominated between 1645 and 1649 by a
group of former parliamentary army officers, John Giffard, Robert
Kyrle, Griffantius Phillips, John Brayne of Littledean, and Thomas Pury

One of the persons in England whose testimony concerning the Saugus/
Lynn Ironworks is found amongst the Harvard Ironworks papers is a
certain Cornelius Vermuiden. I believe this must be the same Sir
Cornelius Vermuyden/ Vermuiden, a prominent engineer involved in
draining fens, who is in the DNB and ODNB. So there may have been
substantial Dutch/ Low-Country interest or involvement in the New
England ironworking projects.
