I've looked through the Leek(e) entries in Roskell and can pass along the following dates:

Sir John Leek of Leake and Cotham was M.P. for Nottinghamshire in 1386, 1388 (Feb.), and 1390 (Jan.). As has already been noted, Sir John's father, Sir Simon Leek (d. ca. 1381), obtained a papal dispensation in June 1351, that legitimated the offspring of Sir John and his wife (and cousin) Margaret Vaux.

According to the entry, Sir John Leek first "comes to notice in August 1376, when he indented to serve in Ireland for a year in the retinue of the governeror, James, earl of Ormond."

He was knighted around this time. He was Sheriff of Notts. and Derbys. in 1382-83, 1386-87, 1392-93, 1399-1400. He was, among other things, J.P. of Notts. 1390-1399, and again in 1401. He shows up in various records again in 1407, 1411, and 1412 and died "shortly before April 1415."

His son, Simon Leek of Leake and Cotham, first appears in June 1390. He was an M.P. for Notts. in 1404 (Oct.), Sheriff of Notts. and Derbys. 1415-1416, and J.P. for Notts. in 1420, and is thought to have died toward the end of that decade (the 1420s). Simon's marriage to Joan Talbot (widow of Sir Thomas Mallory) is placed by Jan. 1405.

Hope this helps.
