Pope Clement IV 1265-1268

Guy Fulquois was born about 1200 and died 29 November 1268.

The son of a lawyer (who were his parents ?) he became a laywer himself and married (when and to whom ?) In 1247 his wife died and he took holy orders. In 1257 he became a bishop, in 1259 an Archbishop. He had close links with the French court and in 1265 was elected pope.

Can anyone add information to this very poor record? Who was his wife, did he have children?
Who were his parents and so on.

Being a lawyer seems to indicate that he belonged to a good class of people and this might link him to other known families.

Can anyone help?

Best wishes

Kelly, in his "Oxford Dictionary of Popes" opines that Clement was born
Guy Foulques circa 1195 at Saint-Gilles-sur-Rhone, and calls him "the
son of a successful judge". He refers to Clement's marriage, his two
daughters, and the death of his wife. None of the references seems
particularly promising, apart from J. Heidemann's "Papst Clement IV:
das Vorleben des Papstes und sein Legationsregister" (Muenster, 1903) -
possibly not an easy work to locate.
