From VCH-Sussex Buckholt Manor
Granted to William de Batisford and he and his wife Margaret Peplesham in 1364

daughter Joan d 1453 was married first to John Coyding(d bef 1382) and then to William de Brenchesley(Brenchley) John Codying was son of John Codyng and grandson of Thomas de Codying who in 1339 held one moiety of the manor of Ewhurst(E Sussex). At the time of John de Codying's death in 1382 the reversion of that moiety which was held for life by Wm Batisford was conveyed to Roger Ashubrham
The manor of Cooding:
In 1242 William de Goding(see Godygeshaven)l held one quarter fee of the Counts of Eu
Hugh de Coding died before 1272, his son John , then a minor, living in 1327 was succeeded by his son Richard before 1332. John who h ad married Sarah was assessed in 1339

Alice, daughter of wm Batisford and Margaret had a daughter Joan, firstly married to Richhill(John Rykhill) and secondly to Richard Bruyn(d 1413.
Elizabeth daughter of wm batisford and Margaret (d before 1407) first husband was sir wm Fynes of fiennes Kt. Her soecond Sir Thomas Lewknor
According to my research the daughter of Alice ,named Joan, married John Rykill son of William Rykill and they had a daughter who married Richard Bruyn

This should help prove that Joan was daugher of Joan and Wm Echyngham and not of Joan Fitzalan.
