I would like to challenge any of the Echyngham researchers to prove tht Agnes Shoyswell was the wife of Thomas Echyngham who b 1401 d 1444. Evidently Stuart Hall who wrote "Echyngham of Echdngham" gave this information and no place else except in the Ancestral Roots and Plantaganet series, who quoted Hall. The Berrys Sussex genealogies say that a Mare(Mary) Shoyswell, daughter of John married Wm Echyngham , who built the Echyngham church ,and the arms are on the "quire" and single on the upper windows. on ye northside of Echyngham church. Wm died 1388

Thomas Echyngham was born 140l and would have had to marry Agnes Shoyswell at very early age as he marries Margaret Knyvett about 1424. Margaret had been married first to Robert de Tye and then to Thomas Marney.
