Who was Edmund Carews' (d 1513) second wife ?

While trolling through A2A I hit a snag (see document far below), which
claims that Sir Edmund Carew of Mohun's Ottery had a wife "Margery" presumably
about the time that his mother's brother John, Lord Dinham died in Jan 1501.

Now Edmund Carew's father had died 6 Dec 1470 and it must be that his mother
was also dead, otherwise he wouldn't be an heir with his aunts lines, since
the estate was divided between all the lines of the daughters of John Dinham
and Joan Arches. At any rate, Edmund's first wife was Katherine Huddesfield
(see Document 1 below) , but she d bef 6 Jul 1499 and he was at that time, in
the wardship of Joan (Jane) (Arches) Dinham d 1497, widow of John Dinham d 25
Jan 1457/8

Something just isn't right here.
Maybe the solution is that it wasn't Edmund's mother who was a daughter of
Joan Arches, but rather, it was Edmund's second wife who was ? Neither
Genealogics nor http://www.tudorplace.com.ar offer any solution as they don't have a second
wife to Edmund at all. I cannot figure out how it was that Edmund's wife was
an heir instead of Edmund himself.

Comments appreciated.

[from Administrative History] In about 1473 Thomas Arundell married Katherine
Dinham, sister of John Lord Dinham. The Dinhams were very prominent and
wealthy in Devon, with extensive lands in the south-west and further afield,
although Thomas Arundell cannot have expected to inherit much, if anything, as
Katherine was one of nine children. Remarkably, all four brothers died without
living issue, John Lord Dinham himself being the last in January 1501, and the
Dinham estates were inherited by the four surviving sisters or their heirs. In
addition to Sir John Arundell, son and heir of Katherine and Thomas Arundell,
these were: Margery, wife of Sir Edmund Carew of Mohun's Ottery, son and heir of
Nicholas, Baron Carew; Elizabeth Lady Fitzwarin, later to marry Sir Thomas
Brandon as her third husband; and Joan Lady Zouche, wife of John Lord Zouche.

This isn't a document at all, Will. It was written by a modern
archivist who had his or her facts wrong. Sir John Dinham's heirs in
1501 included his nephew, Edmund Carew. Edmund Carew's mother,
Margaret (Dinham) Carew, died back in 1471, thirty years previously.
Edmund Carew's only wife was Katherine Huddesfield. He had no wife
named Margery.
