GARY BOYD ROBERTS' RD600 2006

I received the new edition of Roberts' book today. I don't know
what's been discussed on other threads, but I will try to give some
basic information people might find useful.

First, the Katherine Carter line is exactly as it was in the 2004
edition: "maternity has been disputed...." There is no mention of
either of Katherine's sisters, but Roberts does include Jay Berry
Price's book which deals with Elizabeth Dale's descendants in his
sources section.

Downgraded lines:

William Wentworth of NH
Christopher Lawson of MA

Lines probably false:

Hugh Jones
John Edwards
William Edwards
John Evans
(all of PA)

Line dubious:

Thomas and Margaret (Davis) Bye of PA

Roberts also has increased support for lines from John of Gaunt's son
Henry Beaufort, while noting that Brad Verity has argued against it.

On pp. 859 to 861 the author mentions material he has received from Leo
van de Pas regarding Eleanor Whitney, wife of John Puleston, and Sir
William Griffith, who m. 1 Jane Stradling and 2 Jane Puleston,

and notes on the Gyllenhaal descent from Charles VII, King of Sweden,
and the Bush descent from Mrs. Dorothy Beresford Brodnax of VA.

That's about it at a cursory reading. Hope this helps.

I expected these to be eliminated.
Theyre probably all based on Glenn's Merion
in the Welsh Tract & similar works, which
have little in the way of evidence.

Line dubious:

Thomas and Margaret (Davis) Bye of PA

That one should have been removed a while ago.
As I understand it, theres no real evidence to
support it.

Hopefully, some new valid royal descents will show up for Pennsylvania
Quakers.
But it seems like there arent many people making discoveries in that
region.
