It is worth noting that this, like any similar references, can be
located on PROCAT; the original Public Record Office reference, which
is more useful than the Lists & Indexes reference, is C 1/821/8.
An interesting example of a married woman not using her latest married
surname, nevertheless, and an interesting likely second marriage.

Would that be a CP addition?

It would be, I suppose, but firm proof is wanting that this "Lady
Florence Grey" was the same as Florence Hastings, wife of Edmund, 9th
Lord Grey of Wilton (died 1511); an alternative reading in theory could
be that Richard Brett's widow Florence remarried to a Grey before the
action to which the record refers. There is no apparent PCC will for a
Richard Brett of Bletchley (nor for a Florence Brett) - perhaps a bit
of digging on the Bretts would be productive? Lipscomb's
Buckinghamshire or the index of 16th century Lincoln wills? I know the
Lords Grey de Ruthin were seated in Bedfordshire (Bletchley is near the
Bucks/Beds border) but I can't recall off the top of my head where
their cousins of Wilton were based.
