Rude little man.
At 6'5", I'm hardly little, though perhaps rude *at times.*

Dear John ~
Thank you for your great Alsop posts. By all means, please keep them
coming!
Timothy Alsop, the King's Brewer, about whom you posted, was the
brother of the other Elizabeth Alsop who came to New England, who
married Dr. Brian Rossiter, and immigrated on the ship, the Mary and
John, in 1630. I descend from this Elizabeth Alsop.
Timothy and Elizabeth Alsop's father was Rev. John Alsop, of Crewkerne,
Somerset, where Elizabeth was baptized. Rev. Alsop evidently
originally hailed from in or near Staffordshire or Derbyshire, as I
believe he was ordained as a priest in Lichfield diocese when he was a
young man. I haven't been able to learn the name of the wife of Rev.
John Alsop.

Hi Doug,
I had forgotten about the 'other' set of Alsop immigrants--it sounds as
though they may have had some gentry lines as well. I believe there's
a tiny pedigree chart somewhere in Nichols' _Leicestershire_ that shows
the Alsop minister of Crewkerne (don't remember that it showed much
ancestry, however) ....
