Florine de Bourgogne

Learned Listers:

I am endeavouring to discover the identity / existance of Florine de
Bourgogne (and if possible, also Torqueri de Bouillon). I am
specifically after the woman who is cited in numerous texts concerning
Eleanor of Aquitaine and her "amazons" on the Second Crusade. I can
find not trace of her "historically".

There is a Florine de Bourgogne (1083 - 1097) who married Svend of
Denmark (murdered 1097) - but this is quite obviously the same woman.
Both Florine and Svend appear to have died (or were killed) in the
civil wars following the death of Svend's father Svend II Estrithson
(d.1076).

Whilst both the above women (Florine and Torqueri) are mentioned by
Weir, she gives no reference as to their existance. And yes, I do
realise Weir is not always the best source to quote. And that not all
details of women were actually listed by historians.

Could anyone please give me a shove in the right direction (but please
note, I dont have access to the numerous sources that many of you
quote).

Many thanks.
