St John of Charing

I wonder if anyone can help?

One of my ancestors (Richard Cotton of Hamstall Ridware, Staffs,
England) married a Johanna St John de Charing, daughter of Thomas St
John de Charing.

Johanna would have been born c 1480 and Thomas c 1450.

Charing is in Kent.

I have looked at the extensive coverage here of the various St John
families without any obvious match. No luck with wills or other google
searches.

Can any St John researcher help?

Thanks!

One other "clue" to add....

Thornton Hall/College in Wolverton, Bucks has an Armorial Hall with a
number of heraldic shields showing the families that the Cottons
married into.

The entry for StJohn of Charing is;

"Argent a chief dancette gules thereon two mullets Or"

So, is there anyone out there with this on their shield?
