Death Date of Sir Ralph Bowes of Streatlam

Sir Ralph Bowes I of Streatlam Castle, was the third son of Sir William
Bowes IV of Steatlam Castle and Dalden Tower in co. Durham, and Maud
Fitzhugh. He inherited the estates at the death of his father because
his two elders brothers, William and Robert, had dvp and sp.

Many internet sites, including Stirnet, give Sir Ralph's birthdate as 1
September 1468, and his date of death as 3 July 1482. This makes no
sense - he died at the age of 14, after fathering five children with
his wife Margery Conyers, heiress of South Cowton, Yorkshire?
Meanwhile, his wife Margery is given a death date of 12 August 1532.

Sir Ralph's tomb is at the ruins of Egglestone Abbey.

Sir Ralph I's second son (the eldest son John dvp and sp), Sir Ralph
Bowes II (d. 1516) inherited Streatlam Castle and married Elizabeth
Clifford, dau of Henry, 10th Lord Clifford and sister of the 1st Earl
of Cumberland.

The HOP bio of Sir Ralph I's 3rd son, Sir Robert Bowes (d. 28 Feb.
1555, Berwick), of South Cowton, has him born by 1497, and says, "In
1512, under his father's will, Robert Bowes inherited lands worth £10
a year in county Durham, and on the death of his mother in 1524 he
acquired a life interest in her manor of South Cowton, which he made
his residence." I'm not certain, but Sir Ralph Bowes I's will may be
the 'Durham 3/3/12' reference that HOP gives.

Does anyone know which is the correct death date for Sir Ralph Bowes I
- 1482 or 1512, or some other date altogether? And which is the
correct death date for his wife Margery - 1524 or 1532?

Thanks and Cheers, ---------Brad
