Could someone comment on how John Cheyne descended from William Aguillon and
also the family of Pershute/Persthute.

John de Cheyney de la Manewude to Sir Nicholas de Persthute of her rights in
lands in Nutbourne (Sussex) and Bossington (Hants. written
"Suthampteschir'") which she had from her ancestor Sir William Aguillon. -
ref. 5M50/38 - date: 25 April 1321 (14 Edward II)

Manaser, son of William Aguillon was given land in Sussex by Henry I, held
as two knights' fees of the earl of Arundel in 1166 at Nutbourne,
By 1264 from the Testa de Nevel Alan la Zouche held one fee in Nutborn of
the Honor of Arundel.
In 1275 IPM of Robert de Monte Alto,
Nutburn...... 3 fees held by Roger de Chuche [alias la Zuche]
In the Gage records on A2A,"Nutbourne, and lands and tenements called
Newenham in Maresfield) according to the petition of Thomas Couper, clerk,
Thomas Bredon, clerk William Cheyne , Richard Wakehurst, Thomas Joop and
John Croxton who claim to be feoffees (with John Dalyngreg', kt and John
Wodecok, citizen and mercer of London, now deceased) of Philip St Clere; 8
May 5 Jul?1409
