Porters of Lamberhurst in 1619 Kent Visitation

I didn't realize that the family of Jane Porter, wife of Edmund Hawes
the elder, makes an appearance in the 1619 Kent Visitation (p. 155) ...

Does anybody know the Porter of Markham family supposedly ancestral to
the Lamberhurst / Frant Porters ...?

Possibly, also, the following Whitfield pedigree from the London
Visitation (1634) isn't well known --

This chart shows that Robert Whitfield of Wadhurst had two daughters,
"Margt wife to Thomas May of Pashley in Sussex," and "Eliza wife to Ri.
Geffry of Chiddingley in Sussex father of Sr Jo. Geffry Kt Cheife
Baron"

Don Stone gave the gist of Threlfall's information in a posting from
Sept. 2002, 'This Elizabeth [Whitfield, dau. of Robert of Wadhurst] is
covered in John Threlfall's Henry Whitfield book on p. 66. Threlfall
says she married John Edwards of Mayfield & Huntland in Worth and/or
Richard Geoffrey of Chiddingly, Sussex, explaining "various
publications name one or the other of these two husbands, but never
both; possibly another dau., Alice, was instead wife of one of them."
Elizabeth's sister Margaret married Thomas May, son of Thomas of
Wadhurst; Threlfall lists their children, including George "whose gr.
son Thomas May was the celebrated poet and historian."'

I've just noticed that GBR, in his new book, _The Best Genealogical
Sources in Print_, mentions a correction to Paget's work on Prince
Charles' ancestry which might give PC a line from the Whitfields, as
well --

p. 83

Although the major printed May pedigrees are in some disagreement,
Richard May ([Charles' ancestor] N14407) was certainly not the son of
George and Elizabeth (Henley) May. The best pedigree I can suggest at
this time is that Richard May was a son of William May and (perhaps)
Isabel, daughter of John Ballero of Faro in Portugal, grandson of
Thomas and Margaret (Whitfield) May, and great-grandson of John and
Alice (Shotswell) May [or possibly Richard May and an unknown wife] and
of Robert Whitfield and Katherine (Wenbourne?).

I believe I noticed a pedigree chart of this May family in (to me) a
somewhat unusual place--John Nicholls' _Leicestershire_. I wonder if
that would clear anything up ...?

Le Neve seems to support the idea that Richard May was son of William
May and Isabel Ballero, but to exclude the Whitfield descent --
