While looking for documents on the Whittington family, I came across this
interesting document. I cannot identify these people. Can anyone add details
to this family?
Thanks
Will Johnson

Dear Will,
This Thomas Carus may well be son or grandson of Thomas Carus of Halton
(c1510-1571), a judge who appears in the new DNB. This elder Carus was
son of William Carus of Asthwaite, Westmorland by Isabel, daughter of
Thomas Leyburn of Cunswick in the same county. The judge married
Katherine, daughter of Thomas Preston of Preston Patrick, also in the
same county, and had 3 sons and 3 daus.
Matthew
