DE DALCE or DE KELKE

History of the Priory Church of Bridlington, in the East Riding of the
County of York, from
Google book search, page 14, gives an account of the foundation charter
of the priory during
the early reign of Henry I. The last in the list of witnesses to this
charter is a Walter de Calce.
Has anyone come across any members of this family of de Calce. I was
wondering whether it
could be an early spelling of de Kelke or de Kelk. The Domesday entry
for the manor of Kelk
is spelled Chelche. Bearing in mind that Bridlington is only a stones
throw from Kelk, it would
appear logical that Calce could be an intermediate spelling of the name.
