Hello All,

The account in CP says of Alexander Comyn, Earl of Buchan,

' He was living 1289/90, but d. in 1290, before 6 Apr.,
date of writ for Inq. p. m. ' [1]

A slightly tighter date has been noted. Earl Alexander in
fact died some time before 14 March 1289/90, and his son John was
acknowledged as Earl of Buchan on or before that date. He,
identified as ' John Comyn de Boghan ', was one of the Earls of
Scotland attending the Parliament at Brigham on that date which
confirmed the terms of the Treaty of Salisbury with England [2].

Cheers,

John
