STEPHEN of PERCHE/ ETIENNE DU PERCHE

Stephen of Perche was the chancelor of the Kingdom of Sicily in 1166-68,
during the regency of the Queen Margaret of Navarre (between the reign of
William I "Il Malo" and William II "Il Buono").
Stepen was moreover the archbishop of Palermo.

My question, now, is: was S. son or rather nephew od ROTROU II (d. 1144),
count of Perche ?
Are there new achievementsin the last works about the Kingdom of Sicily in
XII c.?

Bibl:
F. CHALANDON, Histoire de la domination Normande en Italie et en Sicilie",
Paris 1907 ; p.176, p.320.
J.J. NORWICH, The Kingdom in the South (1016- 1194), London 1967.
Etc.

Best wishes

In above mentioned thread, the letter of Louis to William is dated on
1169. But was Stephen already dead in that year???
