I hope you get this. I have found more information about #4 below--a
link I found from the LDS site has this person (Oscar below) as Richard
and has his birth as circa 1590 and has his children as Lydia and
David(b.1615), with David marrying Margaret Lasher(b.1620) and the
Peter who is my ancestor listed as their child. However family legend
has it that Peter was Lydia and Prince Rupert's son and was raised by
his Uncle and Aunt until he joined the military at age 17 and came to
New Amsterdam to fight the Dutch(where he settled and married a Dutch
woman--Grace Ffidoe, eventually ending up in New Jersey.) I got this
legend from my particular branch of the NJ Pangburn's and also from the
Ontario, CA, Pangman's and the AR Pangburn's and I did not even know we
were all connected until I started researching the family. If you
remember I am trying to find the ancestor of origin for the genetic
disorder Porphyria that I have and Prince Rupert's sister is ancestress
of 'mad' King George who was thot to have had it. Just thot you would
like the update. My email has not changed--Lady Lvs Nyt at yahoo dot
com.
Also found out some alternative spellings for the surname were:
Penkburn, Penburn, Penkbourne.
Merry Christmas,

-------so far so good, strange exactly 20 year intervals with every generation................
Lydia is reputed to have had an affaire with Prince Rupert. Their son (?) another Pieter Pangbourne was born 1640/1642.
Prince Rupert was imprisoned in Linz in Austria from 1637 for three years. After his realease (I don't know when) he went to England and was naturalised on 19 January 1642.
This Pieter (George or Gustavus) Pangbourne was born 1640/1642 andleft England before 1660 as a soldier for the Brits to fight the Dutch in Manhatten. He owned property in Long Island in 1668 then moved to NJ. He died in 1696 in Woodbridge NJ. he married Grace Ffidoe and their son Stephen_ Pangburn_ was a founder of Elizabeth N.J. There is a line given to me to the present.
Can anyone confirm, correct or wipe this lineage? With many thanks.
