Thomas Lumley / Elizabeth "Plantagenet" dau of Edward IV

Leo on his excellent website here
http://www.genealogics.org/getperson.ph ... 1&tree=LEO

shows us Thomas Lumley the husband and states that
Richard, 4th Lord Lumley is their son and
John, 5th Lord Lumley the son of this Richard

Leo specifies "abt 1493" for the birth of John, 5th Lord Lumley
so his father Richard, allowing him to be at least 17 was born before 1477
and then Elizabeth Plantagenet allowing her to be at least 13 was born before
1464

However allowing her father to be Edward IV limits that to 1459/1463 allowing
him to be 17
and thus we get that Richard, 4th Lord Lumley was born 1472/6

However as father to Thomas Lumley, Leo is showing George, 3rd Lord Lumley b
abt 1445
This George would be grandfather to the Richard, 4th Lord born as I've shown
just 27 to 31 years later.

Due to this, I suggest this line is flawed in some way, but I cannot
determine how to correct it.
I welcome comments that could serve to correct these connections.

IIRC, the CP corrections volume admitted that Elizabeth seemed to be

Edward IV's daughter but was adamant that she had no issue. How they
were so sure I don't know; no doubt somebody can enlighten us.

I think the flaw must tbe the estimate of "about 1445" for the birth date of
George. From the CP account, this is based on his age of "40 and more" at
his father's death in1485. But really he must have been quite a bit older
than 40, as he became joint constable of Scarborough Castle and sheriff of
Northumberland in 1461. An earlier birth is also suggested by the fact that
his father was born as early as 1408 [CP viii 271-273].

Peter Hammond, the editor of CP volume 14, later reversed this opinion,
saying that there was no reason to think the marriage had no issue
[Ricardian, vol. 13, p. 231 and note 10 (2003)].
