Longueval Project Update

For those of you interested in the progress on the Longueval project, I
direct your attention to http://habitant.org/longueval where you will
find an update on the project that Dr. Gagné recently shared with me. He
includes the image of Guillaume Convent's signature found on one of the
notarial documents he and his partner have uncovered and analyzed in
their research.

To refresh your memories, Antoinette de Longueval was the spouse of
Guillaume Convent. Her daughter, Anne Convent, married Philippe Amiot,
and this couple immigrated to New France in the 1630s. Many French
Canadians descend from Philippe Amiot and Ann Convent and through them
from Antoinette de Longueval.

Dr. Gagné and his colleague in France have been carrying out extensive
research to document Antoinette de Longueval's pedigree. They have made
much progress, but there is still much to do. This research team is
identifying and reading through every available notarial document
regarding Antoinette de Longueval and her immediate ancestors in order
to completely document this possible royal lineage.

As I, like many other French Canadians, descend from Antoinette de
Longueval, I look eagerly forward to the completion of this project. I
am confident that this will be another major contribution to our
knowledge of noble and royal ancestors for French Canadians on par with
the Baillon and Le Neuf research projects.

It is easy to claim a royal pedigree, but trust me, it is difficult and
expensive to prove one. I have financially contributed to this project
and I would hope that you would consider doing likewise.
