Why didn't Elizabeth I marry Mary Stuart off to Ivan the Ter

In the 1570s and early 1580s, Queen Elizabeth had two problems on her
hands. One was what to do with Mary Queen of Scots. The other was how
to placate Ivan the Terrible, whose trade she wanted, but was himself
obsessed with the idea of marrying an English princess. First he wanted
Liz's own hand, then Lady Mary Hastings, then anybody. He threatened to
sail to England himself to claim a suitable bride (completely unphased
that he was onto his seventh wife, who had recently given birth to the
much-personated Dmitry).

Did Queen Elizabeth never think of solving two problems by marrying
cousin Mary off to "brother" Ivan? Or would it have backfired - Ivan
seemed to want to live in England, and the combination of Ivan and Mary
together nearby, eyeing the English throne, could have had distastrous
consquences for the Virgin Queen.
