Montgommery puzzle

Roger de Montgommery, Comte de La Marche has a younger brother, Arnoul/Arnulf.

In 1102 both these brothers are forced to leave England. Arnoul goes to Scotland. He had married Lafracoth of Munster, daughter of Murtach O'Brien, KIng of Munster.

Their son, Robert McCimbrie, according to ES, married Marjorie, daughter of Walter Fitzalan, High Steward of England (!).

As far as chronology is concerned, this Walter can be only Walter Fitzalan, High Steward of Scotland who had married to Eochyna de Molle.
Gerald Paget gives this last couple only a son, Alan, 2nd High Steward of Scotland.

Can anyone tell what is correct?

At the moment I am adding to this family (thanks for this to Douglas Richardson, much appreciated) and hope to link them to the later Montgomerys, this would give additional ancestors to Gateway Ancestors
