Geroge Beckwith Family Finally

I wanted to thank everyone who took the time to look into this line for
me the last time I posted the query on this thread. You were all very
helpful. After a few years of studying this line from many different
angles, the conclusion has been that there is no proof whatsoever that
George Beckwith was born at Featherstone Castle and was the son of Sir.
Thomas Beckwith of Clint. As an endnote to this search, I discovered a
quote in the NAtional Genealogical Society Quarterly volume 80, No. 3,
September 1992 by Mr. Simeon M. Fox on "The Beckwiths" by Paul
Beckwith:

"The Beckwith book stands as a sad commentary on the uses to which the
fascinating science of genealogy may be put. The printed genealogies
are so often the work of enthusiastic members of a family, with little
genealogical experience, and too often prone to accept
an..............ancestry on meagre and doubtful evidence----or
sometimes no evidence at all. It is often hard to discriminate between
the chaff and the grain, so that only the original records remain as
actual authority to be quoted...The [Beckwith] family has not yet been
correctly written up."

I couldn't agree more.
