What do folks think of the merits of this suggestion as to the origins
of the artist Peter Pelham who settled in Boston?

As Pelham's sister Helen is mentioned, I plugged the name "Helen
Pelham" into the IGI ...

--St. Andrew Holborn, London--

Helena Pelham, daughter of Peter and Penelope, bapt. 11 Aug. 1700

Peter and Penelope also had children William and Peninah baptised in
the same place (but no Peter). Peter "Pellam" and Penelope Howard were
married 31 Dec. 1695 at St. Mary Magdalene Old Fish Street, London.

As is often the case, I am amongst that category of unfortunates who
cannot access the urls of your links.

Nevertheless, the IGI entry has potential merit, as a starting point
for further research.

There is also a Peter Pelham, gentleman of St George's, Hanover Square,
London, whose will was proved at the PCC in 1756 - but this is taking
the thread even more OT.

Michael
