On Egidia Stewart, checking Leo's site here
http://www.genealogics.org/getperson.ph ... 7&tree=LEO

we see this is the same Egidia Stewart who m first
Sir James Lindsey, Lord of Crawford b "est" 1328
they married (contract 21 Apr 1348)

Egidia's possible birth is limited by her father having died 9 Apr 1327
Leo is showing she married James Douglas Oct 1378 when she had to be at
least 50 years old. The Agnes shown as a daughter off that union could not be
could she?

Dear Will,

Sir James Douglas of Dalkeith was married to Agnes Dunbar by
contract dated before 22 Nov. 1372 [SP VI:348, cites Reg. Honor. de
Morton, ii. 100, 102, 103]. Agnes Douglas, daughter of Sir James, was
contracted to marry Sir John Livingston of Callendar, which marriage
contract was dated 15 August 1381 [Ibid., cites Reg. Honor. de Morton,
ii. 146-147].

As you note, there are chronological issues re: Egidia Stewart, in
that she was born no later than late 1326, and was only married to Sir
James Douglas ca. Oct. 1378, at the tender age of 52......or more.

Agnes Douglas is shown in Scots Peerage as the daughter of Sir
James Douglas of Dalkeith by Agnes Dunbar. I concur with this [re:
which, see the chart in my first post of this thread].

Cheers,

John
