I have amassed a fair amount of detail on various Hernes, so would be
particularly interested to see what you have in relation to the Duchess
of Cornwall's background. Is there any chance you could abstract it -
for instance, is it the Hernes of Kent, of those of Tibbenham &c,
Norfolk?
Cheers

So you think of four items as being "lots"?

The Hernes in Camilla's line were frequent M.P.s, so consult the HOP
1660-90 and 1690-1715 series.

The cryptic URL that John Brandon posted on the Herne ancestry leads to Le
Neve's Knights (Harleian Society Publications v.
. The earliest Herne
shown here is Nicholas, indicated to be of "Tybenham, Norff" Another Herne
pedigree in the 1664 visitation of Norfolk (HSP 85) says this Nicholas was
married to Margaret, dau. of Robert Mallowes of Wattisfield, Suffolk, and
his will was proved 21 Feb 1608. No further ancestry is given for
Nicholas, and he is not shown in another pedigree of the Hernes of Tibbenham
in the same HSP volume.
I've seen one published effort that connects these Hernes of Tibbenham to
the Herons of Chipchase - but I'm skeptical. Any thoughts on this
possibility?
The Hernes in question are ancestral to both of Prince Charles' wives - and
probably a lot of other notable folk as well.

Normally it would be more polite to allow the person addressed *at
least* a few hours to respond ... wouldn't it??

Sorry, I didn't refer to my copy of "Brandon's Rules of Net Etiquette"
before posting....
As Michael says, it's a public group. Anyone can jump in whenever they
choose. I felt my response was helpful...if you don't, so be it....that's
your problem.
I await the next caustic Brandon-gram....(actually, I'll probably ignore it)

Re: Milla's Herne ancestry
Well, my thanks to both Johns. As I don't have access to the later
volumes of HoP, it would just as easy for me to look up Le Neve's
Knights directly when next in London.
In case it may be of interes, the following site contains a letter from
the then Somerset Herald at the College of Arms, summarising his
research into Herne families from various sources; it includes a fair
amount of date on the Tibbenham family.
