Hello, Dr. Richardson,
I'm writing to you through GEN-MED at this time because I tried to e-mail you directly a week or so ago regarding the status of your order fulfillment on MCA orders, but you never answered [I'm sure you stay too busy to answer personal e-mails, or receive so many that you occasionally miss some].
I had written to inquire about the status of your order fulfillment on behalf of the VA-NC Piedmont Genealogical Society here in Danville, of which I am a member. Our society treasurer, Robert Byrd, placed the order in April or May [probably May] and sent a check on the VA-NC Piedmont Genealogical Society bank account for the pre-publication price of the book, with the book to be sent to "VA-NC Piedmont Genealogical Society, PO Box 2272, Danville, VA 24541-0272".
The book has never arrived and Robert [who is in the room with me] cannot remember whether the check has cleared yet or not [he does not have the Society checkbook with him].
I hope you can resolve this situation for us because I, for one, am looking forward to studying the book when it arrives. In the event I didn't already say so on GEN-MED, I'm in the process of trying to trace the entire medieval and pre-medieval ancestry of GARD William Farrar. So far, I have filled in over 1,060 four-generation pedigree charts with the different branches of his tree.
I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Check the archives.
It seems that Verdun, whence Maud's ancestors took their name, was near
Avranches in Normandy.

Not from your Verdun, so relax! Most of us do not get answers to our
list questions, which are questions of the WHOLE LIST, not any one
member.
"It is probable that this Anglo-Norman family took their name from
Verdun, a fief in the parish of Vessey, Manche, cant. Pontorson. [Ref:
